Some whole dinosaurs are laying on the surface and can be seen in various stages of decay.
On the North side of the 11th hole of the Dinosaur Trail Golf and Country Club in Drumheller (we recommend this course) a Parasaurolophus was discovered in 2008 after only a few minutes of digging in an attempt to widen the fairway.
The Royal Tyrrell Museum came over and recorded the location of this dinosaur and asked that excavation stop and the dinosaur covered back up.
It remains there today.
You are welcome to climb the hills and enjoy the fossils you discover right where you find them.
One of the best places to do that is in the nature walk on the grounds of the Royal Tyrrell Museum.

All major finds must be reported to the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
No below surface digging is permitted for fossils without a permit, fines up to $50,000 and jail time can be levied for breaking any of these rules.
